I went to a concert and it was nothing like I’m used to.
The guy talked the entree time and took nearly 30 mic to finally begin playing. He had a full set up but the band only played once, and then only the bassist and drummer.
He’s an alternative genre artist, but he has a lot of not-quite “blues” thrown in. “Country adjacent” also works.
His constant repetitive banter is ridiculous but when he sings, it’s AMAZING.
I had to set my concert expectations aside and just go with the flow. When I let go, I tuned in.
Sometimes we must set our expectations aside and just be in the moment. In a culture that punishes those precious few moments of stillness, it is the driftwood the drowning man pulls himself up on, gasping for air.
