The drought plaguing the Central Plains continues.
Central Kansas was 9 inches below normal precipitation in mid-October. One significant rain and one barely-registered precipitation led to a bone-dry November and zero measurable precipitation in December.
I haven’t looked at the totals for now because I know it’s depressing.
Other than dense fog, we have had very little atmospheric moisture. Oftentimes, this leaves to static electrical fires. Old and exposed wires inside house frames smolder in dry wood, causing house fires.
We need rain. We need it badly.
