Journalism in The Age of AI

This is a journalist’s perspective.

I have some thoughts.

My biggest concern is that the AI will pick up bad journalism — omissions, poor fact-checking, opinion presented as fact, or outright lying — and amplify it.

We are looking at bad actors, both foreign and domestic, brute forcing lies and misinformation, which will then be widely disseminated not just in online news but also via misinformation-friendly social media.

This is dangerous, people.

Skynet won’t nuke us. We will nuke ourselves based on fear fanned by outright lies.
