An interesting note: the deity grift also predates Christianity. Thanks to the American so-called “Protestant work ethic,” U.S.-based religious organizations have extended the grift worldwide, dividing and colonizing non-white and non-Christian societies in Jesus’s name.

A few observations:
1. many of the cited religions are older than, or at least contemporary to Christianity
2. The historical success and subsequent weakness of each religion depends on ruthlessness, not theology
3. Every single cited religion says that it values life — human and otherwise — but has shed blood to gain and maintain power
Conclusion: Western Christianity has murdered more in two millenia than the others on the list, but Islam is not far behind.
American Christianity is the direct successor to the westernization of Christianity, conquering by sword and not by pen. Islam followed in those bloody footsteps and is catching up fast.
This brings us back to the central point — why, with so many choices, are all of the self-professed “one true religions” still competing with each other?
